Susan Sarandon, 70, steals spotlight from the young models..

She's been a Hollywood icon for decades. And Susan Sarandon, 70, showed her younger counterparts how to work a red carpet at the Cannes Opening Night Gala on Wednesday. The actress looked phenomenal in a green velvet gown as she strutted her way down the famous Palais des Festivals red carpet for the opening screening of Ismael's Ghosts at the 70th Cannes Film Festival. The Thelma and Louise icon showed off her incredible figure in the jaw-dropping dress, which featured an off-the-shoulder cut to highlight her ample assets. The fitted number also boasted a daring thigh-high split to flash Susan's amazing legs, with the screen star working her poses like a pro. A pair of classic black pumps and statement shades were all the accessories the beauty needed, with the star ditching the jewels, aside from some stunning sapphire drop earrings, to put all the emphasis on her figure. Waving to the crowds, Susan looked in her element in the Cannes sunshine..

She broke her posing for a few minutes to greet the night's other a-list arrivals, including her good pal Julianne Moore. Susan was also seen chatting to model Bella Hadid,


who looked delighted to meet the Hollywood legend, breaking out in a big smile as she rushed over to say hello.

However the decision to include them didn't go down well with film purists and since the cinematic event has announced that from 2018 only movies set to be released on the big screen will be considered for selection.
