Melissa Benoist is proving to be quite the heroine. The 28-year-old actress was snapped on Friday on the Vancouver, Canada set of her hit series on The CW, Supergirl, looking healthy, fit and strong as she filmed a scene in which she took on a monster. In the action-packed sequence, Benoist was seen wearing her superhero outfit of a shirt, cape, boots and skirt as she engaged in battle with a reptile-like monstrosity with multiple horns. In between takes, Benoist wore a puffy navy blue jacket for warmth as she chatted with director Kevin Smith. The 5ft8 beauty - who filed for divorce from Blake Jenner late last year - broke out as Marley Rose on Glee from 2012 thru 2014.

Supergirl will have plenty of new playmates, as producers are planning to team with three other fantasy shows on The CW - Arrow, The Flash and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow - on 'a true four-way crossover' between the programs. Kreisberg,
according to TV Guide, said that network president Mark Pedowitz's decision to renew a slew of shows last month has opened the door for unprecedented collaborations featuring characters on all of the aforementioned programs.
