The female powerlifter whose incredible physique made her a social media star is set to swap the gym for the stage as she takes on an opera role at the world-famous Bolshoi Theatre. Russian musclewoman Natalia Kuznetsova, 26, is to play a bikini-clad Amazon in a non-singing role in the Puccini opera Manon Lescaut under veteran director Adolfs Sapiro, 78 at the Moscow theatre. Kuznetsova, who recently announced her return to sport after an 18-month leave of absence, regularly shares pictures of her amazing body on social media where she has more than 200,000 followers. She had retired after bagging a number of big titles including world and European bench press and deadlift champion, as well as setting three world records in the sport. In the opera, Kuznetsova will play the role of a muscular woman who symbolises power and the desire to never give up. She said that she would not say or sing a word in the production...
but would be on stage among a group of captives put on a ship. Kuznetsova said: 'I have an episodic role in this play.
My role is of a captive Amazon and I spend the entire third act in a bikini. She added that the offer to perform in the opera had been 'unexpected and flattering' and that she expected to be on stage in January 2018.
She added: 'It is a huge adventure for me. If I would get another offer in the future, I would not say no to it.' It will not be her first time treading the boards.
